The Parkland Businesses and Associations We Work With

Parkland is mostly residential, so commercial work here looks different from a busy downtown. Much of it is homeowner associations and country clubs, plus the shops, offices and practices along the main roads. These are the clients we work with most.

Shops and plazas

The plazas along State Road 7, Hillsboro Boulevard and University Drive, plus the retail just over the line in Coral Springs and Coconut Creek. Glass front doors, back doors to the stockroom, display-case locks and cylinders that are simply worn out from opening every single day.

Restaurants and cafés

High staff turnover and a back door that gets propped open every shift. Rekeying after someone leaves, replacing worn hardware and securing delivery doors are routine jobs for the restaurants and cafés that serve Parkland and the surrounding area.

Offices and professional suites

Insurance agencies, real estate offices, accountants and other small professional suites along Hillsboro Boulevard and State Road 7. Suite doors, shared entries, file rooms and the question of who still has a working key.

Medical and dental practices

Dental, pediatric, therapy and other practices serving Parkland families, in Parkland and next door in Coral Springs. Patient-area doors, records rooms and staff-only access, handled with care for privacy and appointment schedules.

Homeowner associations and country clubs

Clubhouses, fitness centers, pool gates, tennis and pickleball courts, mail kiosks, maintenance buildings and storage rooms in Heron Bay, Parkland Golf & Country Club, MiraLago, Cascata and the other Parkland communities. Boards and managers are quoted exactly like any other customer.

Churches, day cares and learning centers

Houses of worship, preschools, tutoring and activity centers that serve Parkland families. Classroom and office doors, keyed-alike sets for staff, panic hardware on exits and a simple way to cut off access when a volunteer or employee leaves.

What We Handle on Commercial Doors in Parkland

Master key systems

One key for the owner or manager that opens every door, and limited keys for everyone else based on what they need — mapped out before any key is cut. Our master key systems page shows how the levels fit together and why planning comes first.

Staff-turnover rekeying

Nobody likes to schedule it, but it is quick, far less expensive than new locks, and it removes any doubt about who can still get in. See also rekeying in Parkland.

Panic bars and exit devices

We install, repair and adjust them so they latch securely and release instantly. With panic hardware, cutting corners is not just a nuisance — it can put people at risk.

Storefront and mortise hardware

Mortise cylinders, hook bolts, deadlatches and lock bodies on aluminum storefront doors, swapped out while they still work rather than after a key breaks off in the lock one morning.

Keypad and code access

A good fit for clubhouse doors, back doors, storerooms and offices, where collecting keys from people who leave is the real problem. Removing a code takes seconds. See keypad and smart locks.

Everything else on the building

File cabinet locks, mailbox banks, hurricane shutter locks, gate and padlock hardware, and court-ordered eviction lock changes for landlords and property managers.

The Exit Door Rule Every Parkland Business Owner Should Know

People get locked out and call a locksmith. The bigger danger is people being locked in, and it is often caused by owners who added extra locks to a back door to stop theft.

Any required exit has to open from the inside with one motion — no key, no special know-how and no tools. Panic hardware exists for exactly that reason. Double-cylinder deadbolts that need a key from inside, slide bolts, chains and padlocked bars across a rear door during open hours all violate it, and fire inspectors look for them.

There is usually a code-compliant way to get the security you wanted, such as exit-only hardware, a deadlatch with the right function, an alarmed exit device or an outside keypad with free egress inside. If you are not sure about something on your back door, ask us, and if it is really a question for the fire marshal or your alarm company, we will tell you that.

Your local fire and building officials have the final say on exits, not a locksmith. Our part is installing hardware that avoids the problem to begin with.

Scheduling Around a Working Business

Nobody wants a locksmith working on the front door in the middle of a busy morning or a members’ event. Our hours are 9 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week, and we do not do overnight work, but within those hours there is almost always a quiet window that suits you.

About pricing: commercial jobs vary too much to post a rate, since door count, hardware grade, mortise or multipoint locks and the key plan all affect cost. We give you a written quote before any work starts, and the invoice matches it. All hardware we install has a 1-year parts and labor warranty.

Reviews

What customers say

★★★★★

"As the HOA President in my community, we needed our common area door lock issue addressed as soon as possible. Joe from PBC came the next day and immediately addressed the situation. Joe was extremely friendly and loves what he does. I'm aware many companies take advantage of a HOA, but Joe charged us what he would charge any other customer."

"Joe communicated well, showed up on time, and made sure the job was done right. He repaired the rusted and rotted out door hardware which was over 40 years old and now works like new. Will definitely recommend him."

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

An employee left and did not return a key. What should we do?

Rekey every exterior door plus any inside door that key could open. It is fast, much cheaper than replacing hardware, and it closes the issue for good. Same-day service is usually possible, with new keys handed out to the staff who need them.

Can you set up a master key system for our Parkland business or clubhouse?

Yes. With a master key system, a manager carries one key for everything and each employee or vendor gets only what they need — their office, the storeroom, the pool equipment room. The plan has to come before the first key is cut, since reworking a poorly designed system later is a lot more work. See our master key systems page for how it is structured.

Do you work on panic bars and exit devices?

Yes. We install, repair and adjust panic hardware on required exits. It is the area of commercial work where mistakes matter most, because a required exit always has to open from inside in a single motion without a key.

Can you come before we open or after we close?

We are happy to come early or late in your day within our hours of 9 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week; we do not offer overnight service. For a Parkland shop or office, that usually means before opening or on a weekend, so let us know your hours when you schedule.

Our storefront door lock is worn out. Can you replace it without replacing the door?

Almost always. Aluminum storefront doors use a standard mortise cylinder and lock body, and replacing them is routine. We check the model from a photo first so we arrive with the correct parts.

Do you work with HOAs and country clubs in Parkland?

All the time. Clubhouses, fitness centers, pool gates, courts, mail kiosks and maintenance rooms, plus master keying so the board, management and vendors hold the right access and nobody has more than they need. Associations get the same up-front quote as any other customer.

Can you install keypad or code access instead of keys for staff?

Yes, for the right doors. With a keypad there are no keys to collect when someone leaves — you just remove their code. It works well on clubhouse doors, back doors, storerooms and offices, though not on every door, and we will help you choose.

Who actually shows up for a commercial job?

Joe does. PBC Locksmith is run by its owner, so the person who quotes your job is the one who does the work, and the one you can call later if anything needs attention.
