Same-day rekeying for Jupiter homes, condos, townhomes, vacation rentals and Jupiter Farms properties, most finished in under an hour. Owner-operated, licensed & insured, 9 AM–7 PM, 7 days a week.
Inside an ordinary lock is a short row of spring-loaded pins, and each cut on your key lifts one pin to exactly the right height. To rekey, Joe removes the cylinder, loads pins that match a brand-new key and puts it back. Your door hardware stays right where it is.
The result: every key that used to work is dead for good. The spare hidden in the planter, the copy a seller forgot about, the one the pool service never gave back — none of them turn anymore, and you get fresh keys.
It is fast, costs much less than new hardware, and it is the right job for most Jupiter homes. Joe can usually key the front door, garage door, back door, pool gate and boat shed alike.
Most Jupiter rekey calls come from one of these six situations.
The most common reason by far. Sellers, past renters, agents, house watchers, cleaners and pool and landscape crews may all still hold keys. After the rekey, only your new keys open the door.
A routine step between tenants or vacation guests for Jupiter owners, and a fraction of the cost of new locks. Our Florida landlord rekeying guide covers the rules and the good habits.
Lost on the beach at Carlin Park, dropped at the ballpark in Abacoa, left on a boat at the marina. If someone could tie that key to your address, a rekey is inexpensive peace of mind.
A house watcher you stopped using, a former roommate, a contractor who kept a copy, a guest who left with the key. A rekey ends their access quietly, with no awkward talk.
Front door, garage, back door, pool gate, shed and boat house, each on its own key. Locks with a compatible keyway can be rekeyed to match, so a single key works on all of them.
Many Jupiter homes are empty for months, with keys spread around among house watchers, cleaners and neighbors. Rekeying when you come back for the season, or when you change house watchers, puts you back in control of who can get in.
A locksmith who always sells new hardware is in the hardware business. Most of the time a rekey is the smarter buy — not always, and Joe tells you honestly which your door needs.
Lots of Jupiter homes end up with a mix: rekey the healthy locks and replace the one the salt air has eaten. That is perfectly normal, and it can all still run on one key.
Locks close to the ocean, the Inlet and the river corrode from the inside, and a corroded cylinder sometimes cannot be saved. Joe opens it up, tells you what he finds, and quotes only after that. Our salt-air lock guide explains why.
Abacoa, Jonathan’s Landing, Admirals Cove and most Jupiter communities have an HOA. A rekey almost never needs approval because the lock looks identical afterward, but a quick check is always fine.
Hurricane-rated entry doors and sliders to the pool often use multipoint hardware. Most of it can be rekeyed; it simply takes a bit longer than a standard deadbolt.
Locks that went in at different times rarely match. Many Kwikset-type and Schlage-type locks can be put on one key, and Joe tells you before he starts if one cannot.
What changes the price: the number of cylinders, whether they are the same brand, any multipoint or padlock cylinders, and how worn or corroded they are. You get an exact quote before work begins, and most homes take under an hour.
We also rekey nearby, in Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Royal Palm Beach and Wellington.

"Joe did an excellent job replacing 4 door deadbolt locks and a main front door handle - he responded quickly, set up an appointment for the next day, took care of business promptly, all at a reasonable price."
"Very nice job completed. I was extremely happy with his work. He was prompt on arrival time and installed many locks and dead bolts for me. I am a happy customer from Delray Beach!"

Your lock stays put. Joe removes the cylinder, changes the pins to a new combination and reinstalls it. Old keys stop working on the spot, and you leave with new keys that fit.
Nearly always. You keep the hardware you have and pay only to change the key. Replacement makes sense when a lock is corroded, worn or damaged, and Joe tells you which case you are in.
Yes, and the sooner the better. Sellers, renters, agents, house watchers and service crews may still have keys. Most homes are done in under an hour, and then only your new keys open the doors.
Usually, when the locks share a compatible keyway, as most Kwikset-type and Schlage-type locks do. If one is a different brand, Joe tells you whether it can be matched.
A typical Jupiter home with three to five cylinders takes under an hour. Pool gates, boat sheds and multipoint locks add a little time.
Often, yes. If the gate or shed lock has a compatible keyway, Joe rekeys it to match the house. If not, he can fit a matching lock or padlock so one key opens everything.
Usually. Lots of Jupiter homes have multipoint locks on impact doors and pool sliders that can be rekeyed with a little extra time. Text a photo and Joe will confirm.
For most owners, yes — it is the usual step between tenants or guests, and a keypad is worth considering if turnover is frequent. If a lock is worn or corroded, Joe replaces it on the same visit.
