5. Entry without damage, wherever possible
Joe starts by picking or bypassing the lock, so it keeps working just like before. He only drills when a lock has actually failed, and he tells you before he does.
6. Fixing what caused the lockout
If a worn lock is what locked you out, Joe can usually fix or replace it during the same visit so you are not locked out again next month. If the door simply swung shut, you are back inside and that is it.
Jupiter Homes and How They Affect a Lockout
Jupiter has planned neighborhoods, guarded waterfront communities, older homes close to the ocean and rural lots in Jupiter Farms, and each of them calls for a slightly different approach.
Near the beach and the Inlet
Homes and condos close to the ocean, the Inlet and the Loxahatchee River live with salt air, and their locks corrode faster than anywhere inland. A stiff, crusty lock is common here, and the right tools still open it cleanly.
Guarded and gated communities
Admirals Cove, Jonathan’s Landing, The Bluffs, Egret Landing and many Abacoa neighborhoods have a guardhouse or a gate. Give the gate our name and the lockout goes quickly once Joe is through.
Impact, French and pool doors
Hurricane-rated entry doors and sliders out to the pool and lanai are standard in Jupiter, and many use multipoint locks. They open very differently from a simple deadbolt, so tell us which door has you locked out.

What to Do While You Wait — and What Not to Do

- Walk around the house once: back door, lanai, garage side door and ground-floor windows sometimes turn out to be unlocked
- Call whoever might have a spare — a neighbor, a relative, your property manager or the HOA office
- Text us a photo of the lock and the front of the door
- Tell the guardhouse or the HOA office a locksmith is on the way
- Find some shade or a cool spot — this is Florida, and the van will find you
× Not worth doing
- Breaking glass. Impact windows and doors cost far more than a lockout call, and replacements can take weeks to arrive
- A card in the latch. Most Jupiter entry doors have a deadbolt, so it won't work
- Taking the door off the hinges. In a condo or HOA community it can also break association rules
- Forcing a condo or garage fire door. Those doors are expensive to fix and the association may bill you
- Hiring an unnamed locksmith ad. Ask for a real business name before anyone comes to the building
Keep this in mind: if the key is lost rather than sitting on the kitchen counter, getting in solves only half of it. Someone else may have it. A rekey on the same visit means that key opens nothing.

Can you get me back into my Jupiter home without damage?
In nearly every case, yes. Joe picks or bypasses the lock first so it keeps working as normal. Drilling is reserved for a lock that has truly failed, and he tells you why before starting.
What do I need to show you at the door?
A photo ID and a document linking you to the address: a lease, deed, utility bill or HOA record. Owners and tenants are both fine. If the ID is inside with the keys, say so on the call and Joe will work out another way to confirm.
How soon can you reach my Jupiter home or condo?
Jupiter is at the far north of our route from our Boca Raton base, so Joe gives you a realistic arrival time on the call. We are open 9 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week, with no overnight service.
Can you open a barn, workshop or gate in Jupiter Farms?
Yes. Barns, workshops, tack rooms and padlocked gates are regular calls out in Jupiter Farms. Tell Joe which building it is and how to find it on the property, and text a photo of the lock if you can.
My community has a gate remote and a clubhouse fob. Can you help with those?
Joe opens your front door. Gate remotes, clubhouse fobs and community gates belong to the HOA, so replacements come from the HOA office or the property manager.
Should I break the slider glass to get in?
No. Impact glass costs several times what a lockout call does and can take weeks to replace. Pulling hinge pins can ruin the door and the frame. Calling Joe is nearly always the cheaper way back inside.
Can you open a pool or balcony slider?
Usually, though it takes longer than a front door. Pool sliders and French doors have their own latches and often a second lock, so describe the door and Joe will tell you plainly what to expect.
Can you rekey my locks while you are here?
It makes sense if you just bought the place, a renter or guest just left, or the lost key could reach the wrong person. Joe is already there, so a rekey adds little time and every old key stops working the same day.
