ANSI/BHMA grades residential locks from 3 up to 1, and the grade tells you more than the brand name does. Here is what each one means for a Jupiter home.

Something most people never hear: the screws and the strike plate matter as much as the lock. A Grade 1 deadbolt held on by short screws in a soft jamb can still give way. Joe uses long screws and a reinforced strike that reach the framing.
Before You Book a Lock Change in Jupiter
- Check with your HOA. Some Jupiter communities, such as Abacoa neighborhoods and the guarded clubs, have rules on front-door hardware and finish. A quick look first saves trouble later.
