Locked Out of Your Own Place in Royal Palm Beach

The wind pushes the door shut while you water the plants, the keys are on the counter, or the keypad by the garage stops answering. Here is how a Royal Palm Beach lockout call plays out.

1. You get Joe on the phone

Joe answers the call himself and is the one who comes to your door — no call center, no subcontractor. Royal Palm Beach is out west, northwest of our Boca Raton base, so he gives you an honest arrival time on the phone.

2. We ask about the door

Is it a knob and deadbolt, a keypad, an impact door, French doors or a slider to the patio? The door decides the approach. Texting a photo of the lock to 561-406-9944 before Joe arrives saves time.

3. A quote and an honest ETA

The price and the arrival time are settled on the phone, before Joe leaves. No teaser number, and if the door is different from what you described, he stops and asks before going further.

4. We confirm you live there

A photo ID and something linking you to the home: a lease, a deed, a utility bill or an HOA record. Owners and renters are both fine. That check is what keeps strangers out of your house.

5. Entry without damage, wherever possible

Joe picks or bypasses the lock first, which leaves it working exactly as it did. Drilling is only for a lock that has truly failed, and he tells you before it happens.

6. Fixing what caused the lockout

If a worn-out lock caused the lockout, Joe can usually repair or replace it on the same visit so it does not happen again. If the door just closed behind you, you are back in and done.

Royal Palm Beach Homes and How They Affect a Lockout

Royal Palm Beach has older single-family neighborhoods, newer gated communities and, right next door, rural lots in The Acreage, and each one is handled a little differently.

Established neighborhoods

La Mancha, Crestwood, the Willows and Counterpoint Estates have plenty of homes from the 1970s through the ’90s, many still with their original knobs and deadbolts. Worn locks open cleanly with the right tools.

Gated communities

Madison Green, Bella Terra, Victoria Grove and the other HOA communities off Southern Boulevard have a gate or a guardhouse. Give the gate our name and the lockout itself goes quickly.

Impact, French and patio doors

Newer homes and many remodels have impact-rated entry doors and sliders to the patio with multipoint hardware. These open very differently from a simple deadbolt, so tell us which door you are locked out of.

Keypads and smart locks

Most of the keypad and smart lock lockouts we see in Royal Palm Beach come down to dead batteries. Many models have a hidden backup key or a spot to power them from outside, so it is often a quick fix.

Gated Communities and the Neighborhoods We Serve

In Royal Palm Beach’s gated communities, the usual delay is a gate that does not have our name. Call ahead and the job moves much faster.

North of Okeechobee and central RPB

La Mancha, Crestwood, the Willows and the neighborhoods around Royal Palm Beach Boulevard and Commons Park. Mostly single-family homes, many with original hardware.

South toward Southern Boulevard

Madison Green, Bella Terra, Victoria Grove and Counterpoint Estates. Gated neighborhoods with newer homes, keypads and impact doors.

The Acreage and Loxahatchee

Large rural lots just west of Royal Palm Beach, with homes, sheds, workshops and farm gates spread across an acre or more. Joe opens the house and the outbuildings.

Rentals and new owners

Royal Palm Beach has plenty of rental homes and young families buying their first house, and lockouts are common in the first weeks. If you rent out a home, ask about rekeying between tenants.

What to Do While You Wait — and What Not to Do

✓ Worth doing

  • Walk around the house once: back door, lanai, garage side door and ground-floor windows sometimes turn out to be unlocked
  • Call anyone who has a spare — a neighbor, a relative, your landlord or the HOA office
  • Text us a photo of the lock and the front of the door
  • Let the gate or the HOA office know a locksmith is coming
  • Find some shade or a cool spot — this is Florida, and the van will find you

× Not worth doing

  • Breaking a window. Impact glass costs far more than a lockout call, and a replacement can take weeks
  • A card in the latch. Most Royal Palm Beach front doors have a deadbolt, so it won't work
  • Taking the door off the hinges. On an impact door it can damage the frame and void the door's rating
  • Forcing the door from the garage. It is often fire-rated and costly to repair or replace
  • Hiring an unnamed locksmith ad. Ask for a real business name before anyone comes to the building

One more point: if the key is lost instead of sitting inside, getting back in only fixes half the problem. Whoever finds it might use it. A rekey on the same visit makes that lost key worthless.

What customers say

"Joe installed a smart lock on our front door. He was quick to respond, had a flexible schedule, and was very professional and friendly. I would recommend him to my friends."

"They installed 2 new entry door lock sets and rekeyed several other locks to use 1 key instead of the many. Joe was incredibly efficient and a good value. He came out and did all of the work that same afternoon."

"We were in the middle of preparing for the upcoming Hurricane Ian and the front door lock would not open. Joe came changed out the lock professionally done, and quickly and charged us a fair price with one year guarantee on the work."

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you get me back into my Royal Palm Beach home without damage?

Almost always. Joe picks or bypasses the lock first, so it keeps working normally. Drilling is only for a lock that has failed, and he explains it to you before he starts.

What do I need to show you at the door?

A photo ID plus something linking you to the home: a lease, a deed, a utility bill or an HOA record. Owners and renters are both fine. If your ID is locked inside too, mention it on the call and Joe will find another way to confirm.

How soon can you reach my Royal Palm Beach home?

Royal Palm Beach is northwest of our Boca Raton base, so Joe gives you a realistic arrival time on the call. Hours are 9 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week, with no overnight service.

Can you open a shed, workshop or gate out in The Acreage?

Yes. Sheds, workshops, barns and padlocked farm gates are regular jobs in The Acreage and Loxahatchee. Tell Joe which building it is and how to find it on the property, and send a photo of the lock if you can.

Our neighborhood has a gate remote and a clubhouse fob. Can you help with those?

Joe opens your door. Gate remotes, clubhouse fobs and community gates are run by your HOA, so those come from the HOA office or your property manager.

Should I break the slider glass to get in?

No. Impact glass costs several times more than a lockout call and can take weeks to replace. Pulling hinge pins can wreck a door and its frame. Calling Joe is almost always the cheaper way back in.

Can you open a patio slider?

Usually, though it takes longer than a front door. Sliders and French doors have their own latches and sometimes a second lock, so describe the door and Joe will tell you honestly what to expect.

Can you rekey my locks while you are here?

It is worth considering if you just moved in, a tenant just left, or the lost key could land in the wrong hands. Since Joe is already there, a rekey takes little extra time and every old key stops working that day.
