Locked Out of Your Own Place in Coral Springs

The garage door comes down with the keys inside, the kids lock the front door on their way out, or the smart lock quietly runs out of battery. It happens to every family. Here is how a Coral Springs lockout call goes.

1. You get Joe on the phone

Joe answers and Joe shows up — no dispatcher, no subcontractor, no handoff. Coral Springs is a short drive from our Boca Raton base, so he can usually tell you on the call when he will be there.

2. We ask about the door

Front door, garage entry door, keypad, impact door, French doors or a slider? The door decides the approach. Texting a photo of the lock and door to 561-406-9944 before we arrive saves real time.

3. A quote and an honest ETA

Price and arrival time are settled before we drive over. There is no low number that grows at your door, and if the job turns out different from your description, you hear from us before any extra work.

4. We confirm you live there

A photo ID and something tying you to the address: a lease, a deed, a utility bill or an HOA record. Owners and renters are both fine. This check protects you, too — it is how we make sure no one talks a locksmith into opening your home.

5. Entry without damage, wherever possible

We start by picking or bypassing the lock, so it works exactly as before once you are inside. Drilling only happens if the lock has failed internally, and we explain that before doing it.

6. Fixing what caused the lockout

If a worn or broken lock caused the lockout, we can usually fix or replace it on the same visit. If the door just closed behind you, you walk back in and that is it.

Coral Springs Homes, Old and New

Coral Springs has homes from the 1970s through today, from established neighborhoods like Ramblewood and Forest Hills to newer gated communities like Heron Bay. The door in front of you decides how the lockout is handled.

Established homes

Many homes in Ramblewood, Maplewood, Forest Hills and the older parts of the city still have original or decades-old knobs and deadbolts. They take patience and the right tools, and replacement parts are easy to find.

Garage entry doors

The door from the garage into the house is often left unlocked until the day it is not — and the garage door is down too. If your garage has a keypad, try it first; if not, tell us and we will plan for both doors.

Impact and French doors

Newer and remodeled homes in Heron Bay, Eagle Trace, Turtle Run and Wyndham Lakes often have impact doors with multipoint hardware. It opens differently from a simple deadbolt, so let us know what you have.

Keypads and smart locks

Keypads and smart locks are common in Coral Springs, and dead batteries cause most of the smart lock lockouts we see. Many have a hidden key cylinder or an outside battery contact, so the fix is often quick.

Gated Communities and the Neighborhoods We Serve

Many Coral Springs neighborhoods have a gate or guardhouse, and an unprepared gate is the most common reason a lockout takes longer. A quick call to add us to the visitor list fixes that.

West Coral Springs

Heron Bay, Eagle Trace, Turtle Run and the communities toward the Sawgrass Expressway. Mostly gated, with newer homes, impact doors and lots of keypads.

Central Coral Springs

Downtown, Wyndham Lakes, Cypress Run and the neighborhoods around University Drive and Sample Road. A mix of single-family homes, townhomes and condos.

East Coral Springs

Ramblewood, Maplewood, Forest Hills and the neighborhoods toward Riverside Drive and State Road 7. Established single-family homes, many with original hardware.

Rentals and townhomes

Coral Springs has plenty of rental homes and townhomes, and lockouts are common on move-in day. If you manage rentals, ask about our turnover rekeying.

What to Do While You Wait — and What Not to Do

✓ Worth doing

  • Walk around the house once: back door, lanai, garage side door and ground-floor windows sometimes turn out to be unlocked
  • Call anyone with a spare — a neighbor, relative, house-sitter or your property manager
  • Text us a photo of the lock and the front of the door
  • Tell the gatehouse we are coming so we are not held up at the entrance
  • Find some shade or a cool spot — this is Florida, and the van will find you

× Not worth doing

  • Breaking a window. Impact glass costs many times more than a lockout call, and large impact windows can take weeks to replace
  • The credit-card trick. It does nothing to a deadbolt and it can damage the latch
  • Taking off the hinge pins. On modern exterior doors the pins sit on the inside, and removing them can wreck the door and frame
  • Forcing the door. A bent jamb or cracked frame turns an easy job into a repair job
  • Calling a number with no local address and a price that sounds too good to be true. It is usually a call-center bait-and-switch

One more thing worth saying: if a key is lost instead of left inside, getting back in only solves half the problem. Whoever finds it could use it. A same-visit rekey makes the lost key worthless.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you get me back into my Coral Springs home without damage?

In almost every case. We pick or bypass the lock first, so it keeps working normally. Drilling is only for a lock that has truly failed, and we tell you before we do it.

What proof do I need that I live here?

A photo ID plus something linking you to the address: a lease, a deed, a utility bill or an HOA record. Owners and renters are both fine. If your ID is inside, tell us on the phone and we will find another way to confirm.

How fast can you get to me in Coral Springs?

Coral Springs is a short drive from our Boca Raton base, and Joe gives you a specific arrival time when you call. We work 9 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week, and do not take overnight calls.

I live in a gated community in Coral Springs. Does that slow things down?

Only if the gate does not know we are coming. Heron Bay, Eagle Trace, Turtle Run and the other gated communities check every visitor, so call the gate with our name and arrival time and we will drive straight in.

My HOA controls the gate remote and community keys. Can you help?

We open your own front door and fix your own locks. Gate remotes, access cards, clubhouse keys and other HOA items come from your association or property manager.

Should I take the door off its hinges or break a window?

No. Replacing a broken window costs far more than a lockout, and impact glass can take weeks. Pulling hinge pins can damage a modern door and frame. A locksmith visit is nearly always the cheaper route.

Can you open a sliding glass door or French doors?

Often, but they take longer than a front door. Sliders and French doors have different latches and sometimes an extra lock, so tell us what kind of door it is and we will give you a straight answer.

I am locked out anyway. Should I rekey while you are here?

It is worth considering, especially if you just moved in, a house-sitter or contractor had a key, or the missing key could end up in the wrong hands. Since we are already there, a rekey adds little time and every old key stops working that day.
